This glossary is a comprehensive list of MAPTUAL's features and capabilities, as well as the terms that are commonly referred to. The below is sorted in alphabetical order.

Activity Timeline

A timeline unique to each HCP. Located under the Connect tab, this chronologically displays CRM-logged activities along with Segment Score and PowerScore changes to help visualize the impact of each interaction on HCP behavior.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence is based on a computer’s ability to make decisions or predict.

Best Channel

An HCP’s best channel is determined by the highest likeliness to drive target product Rx lift in response to communications via that channel, which is calculated by MAPTUAL’s Attribution Algorithm.

Connection Tags

The tags are located in the HCP Connection feature’s recommended similar profiles. These identify commonalities between the original HCP (whose profile you are on) and those who are similar.

⚠️ Note: The 7 tags are as follows:

  • Specialty

  • Current Specialty

  • Location → Correlates to FSA/Zip

  • Hospital

  • Same Building → Correlates to entire address (country, province/state, city, street name and street number)

  • Grad Year → +/- 1 year

  • University

Doctor Level Data (DLD)

Physician level data including prescription information.

Dynamic Business Objectives

These are easily modifiable business objectives set forth by the Pharmaceutical brand.

💡 Example: Taking market share from competitor product’s X and Y and moving it to Target Product Z

Geo List

Different various geographical areas can be selected to narrow down which HCPs are shown. You can also search for your territory here. This includes a national list, provincial/state lists, or even company specific territories.

💡 Example: National, Provincial, organization-designated territories…etc

HCP

Health care practitioner/provider

HCP Connections

A quick way to identify HCPs who are similar to your target HCP using various weighted factors such as geographical proximity, graduation year, and specialty. These 12 characteristics that are used to quantify an HCP’s similarity are combined into 7 tags outlined in the Connection Tags definition.

⚠️ Note: Connections are listed in orderof similarity, not ranked by PowerScore. Not all HCPs will have connections (data and location dependent)

Influential Channels

In addition to the best channel, HCPs may have other channels that are identified as ‘influencing channels’. These channels also drive lift in the target product Rx, however, to a lesser degree than the ‘best channel’.

Key Opinion Leader (KOL)

An HCP that has a strong status in the community and whose opinions, recommendations, and publications are regarded highly by many other HCPs when making decisions.

Look-alike Model (starters)

MAPTUAL’s proprietary look-alike AI model analyzes the target HCP and tries to identify similar HCPs. This is extremely helpful in the Starters Segment since the target HCP has not yet prescribed the target product and therefore has no Rx data. Additional applications occur when HCPs are in non-DLD regulated provinces so MAPTUAL can use look-alike modelling to identify similar HCP’s that do have Rx data.

Moving Annual Total (MAT)

This is a rolling annual sum, so it changes as the most recent month is added and the oldest month is removed.

Machine Learning (ML)

ML is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that refers to computer systems that are developed and used to learn and adapt without explicit instructions. This is often achieved through algorithms and statistical models that use historical data as an input to predict a future output or find patterns in data.

NBRx

New to brand prescription; a new script for a patient that has not previously used this product.

NRx

An NRx is a new prescription written for a patient either for the first time (NBRx) or as a renewal.

⚠️ Note: NRx does NOT include refills, while TRx does.

Omnichannel

The summation of a variety of channels used by organizations to interact with their customers.

Omnichannel Attribution

This is NOT a simple engagement channel score in the sense that the higher the activity frequency, the higher the score. MAPTUAL’s proprietary Omnichannel Attribution algorithm analyzes each physician and assigns attribution values on the activity channels (calls, F2F, email, etc.) that are most likely to drive a lift in the target product Rx. This algorithm is updated with new Rx and CRM data ingestions. If a physician doesn’t have enough or any data, their value is omitted or becomes 0.

Omnichannel Segments

These segments include Best For and Best Channel Source which are generated using our proprietary Attribution Algorithm. These channels are uniquely labeled for each HCP based on their likeliness to help drive lift in Rx of the Target Product.

💡 Example: Sales Emails, F2F meetings…etc

PowerList

A dynamic list of HCPs ranked by their PowerScore or Segment Score. The PowerList changes based on the geographical area and/or the microsegment selected.

PowerScore

The PowerScore is created using over 250 engineered features to determine the best return for the selected Business Objective. This score runs from 0 to 10. The higher the PowerScore, the greater the propensity of the HCP/account to support your objective.

⚠️ Note: PowerScore’s are normalized within a selected PowerList (geographical area and/or segment) therefore an HCP with a PowerScore of 10 in a specific territory may not have the same PowerScore nationally.

PowerScore Change

An HCP’s PowerScore Change is denoted by a +/- followed by the numerical change and can be seen directly below their PowerScore in MAPTUAL Field, or as its own column in MAPTUAL Sphere. Changes are subject to occur upon new data ingests as the AI/ML algorithms are loaded with new information.

Preview Tags

These tags are located below an HCP’s name in the PowerList and highlight some of the key factors driving their PowerScore. These may include memberships to particular segments and/or what they tend to prescribe (TRx or NBRx).

Segment Membership

MAPTUAL recognizes that HCP behaviours can be influenced by patient populations and different commercial efforts, therefore update our HCP segments each month to reflect the dynamics of the market. Referring to HCPs as having ‘memberships’ to a specific segment allows us to better understand their journey as a customer.

Segment Score

An HCP’s Segment Score reflects their performance with regards to a specific microsegment. This may be based on historical and/or predicted behaviour.

💡 Example: For Growers, the higher the predicted growth is, the higher their Segment Score will be.

Segments

An all encompassing term used to refer to the predictive, omnichannel and popular segments available through the MAPTUAL platform.

Target Product

The target product(s) are defined by the dynamic business objectives as those which you are trying to increase market share or script volume in.

💡 Example: If your Dynamic Business Objective is defined as moving market share from the rest of the total market (Drugs A and B) to Drug C, then Drug C is your Target Product.

⚠️ Note: Target Products can be easily identified by the Dynamic Business Objective.

Top Influential Channels (Field)

The top three channels to communicate with a specific HCP are displayed on their HCP Page. Top channels are determined by the propensity for an HCP to support the business objective following communications through these channels. Channels are listed in order such that the best channel appears first.

TRx

TRx is total scripts: New Rx (NRx) + Refill Rx (RRx) = Total Rx (TRx).

Year to Date (YTD)

Values aggregated thus far in the calendar year.

12M Rolling

Data from the most recent 12 months

6M Rolling

Data from the most recent 6 months
